21-year-old dies at Lagos birthday party after mixing hard drugs

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of 21-year-old Michael Arigbabuwo at a birthday party after allegedly mixing hard drugs for maximum effect.

Command spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said so on Twitter on Saturday.

Hundeyin said the incident happened in the Ikorodu area of ​​Lagos on Friday, pointing out that three of his friends who were also at the party were arrested.

The spokesman said information received by the police in Ikorodu revealed that around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, a distress call came that a group of “Yahoo” boys brought a dead body to the Igbogbo area of ​​Ikorodu.

“Based on the information, teams of detectives visited and photographed the scene. Three young men aged 23 and 24 were arrested.

“The suspects claimed that the deceased allegedly smoked heavily and drank codeine at a birthday party of a friend of theirs held in Igbogbo neighborhood in Ikorodu.

“The suspects further claimed that the deceased began to gasp. He was rushed to hospital but died,” he said.

The spokesperson said the corpse had been evacuated and taken to Ikorodu General Hospital for autopsy.

Hundeyin warned young people against drug addiction, stressing that drugs would end their lives in disaster.

“Are you thinking of taking drugs? To rethink because nothing fruitful emanates from it.

“The investigation into the case has begun,” he said.
