I really don’t understand the world today. This weekend I was told of a new ticking trend that people seem to be going crazy about. So much so that I must have seen a friend participate in the madness. For some reason, people are putting yellow mustard on watermelon and now it’s the new summer trend.
It seems that it was only yesterday that the internet gave us the Tide Pod challenge. Fortunately, people have gotten a bit wiser and instead of putting cleaning chemicals in their bodies, they are sticking to real food. Even though food is two things I never thought they would taste good together. However, in most of the videos I’ve seen and my friend’s personal opinion, mustard on watermelon tastes pretty darn good.

I guess the peppery taste of mustard pairs well with the sweetness of watermelon. I was almost convinced to give it a go but just couldn’t. Mainly because I’m not a mustard fan in the first place and I think watermelon doesn’t need any additives to be delicious. I also think the texture is a bit coarse. I have a weakness for sauces and being watery. It turns me off a bit.
Anyway, if you think you are brave enough to attempt this odd combination, be my guest. I will enjoy my intact watermelon and the mustard can stay in the fridge.
