Pepperdine University Turns to Daktronics for New Women’s Football AV System and Improved All-in-One Outdoor Baseball Video Display

In a partnership with Pepperdine University, Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota will design, manufacture and install two new LED video displays at the Malibu, California campus. For women’s football, a new screen and sound system was installed this summer at one end of the Tari Frahm Rokus pitch, an upgrade to their equipment which was installed in the early 2000s and allows for a whole new audio visual experience. on the site. For baseball, an all-in-one video screen will be installed this fall in right field at Eddy D. Field to replace the previous video screen that served them for 15 years and will increase their video capabilities by more than 525 feet. squares.

“The addition of new Daktronics video cards to Tari Frahm Rokus Football Field and Eddy D. Field will dramatically improve the game day experience for our student-athletes and fans,” said Pepperdine Athletic Director Dr. Steve Potts. “Thanks to a university-wide fundraising effort and the generous support of so many amazing donors, we are so proud and excited to enhance our facilities with these new additions. We are grateful for our long association with Daktronics and their partnership on this project.

Both screens feature a 15 pixel HD layout to bring crisp, clear images to the videos, replays, stats, animations and other graphics shown to Waves fans on both sites. For football, the video screen is approximately 15.5 feet tall by 27.5 feet wide. The new all-in-one baseball video display will measure approximately 13.5 feet tall by 47 feet wide.

Each video display is capable of variable content zoning allowing them each to display a large image or display multiple areas of content, including any combination of content mentioned above. These displays also feature industry-leading environmental protection to perform as expected in the California climate.

Sporty sound® The 500 audio system is integrated with the Tari Frahm Rokus Field video and scoring system to deliver full sound reproduction and deliver clear, intelligible speech for Wave football fans, coaches and student-athletes.

In addition to the equipment installation, Waves will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
