The I Got Love campaign for Illinois Cares for Kids does everything right | Chicago Reel

The 1o8 I have love inaugural statewide advertising campaign for Illinois takes care of children is an artistic collaboration.

The spot features vibrant Illinois talent in a charming animated video that features a fresh and modern take on the Nat King Cole classic song, I have love.

1o8the commercially-focused Chicago creative agency tapped into the talents of Illinois artists, musicians and production partners, leveraging artwork from the artist, designer and street muralist Shawn Smiththe voice of super singers Meagan McNeal and Arla Voxthe animation production expertise of Sarofsky and the music production skills of Squeak E. Clean, to help develop and execute a new take on Nat King Cole’s classic “I Got Love” into a charming video that will appeal to many generations.

The campaign media plan includes online video, CTV, local broadcast, audio streaming, digital, digital OOH, social media and search.

1o8 also partnered with multicultural marketing experts PACO Collective to develop a bilingual campaign, accessible to Illinois’ diverse Latinx community. All communications are in Spanish and English, so Illinois families can find the right providers and resources quickly and efficiently.

The campaign begins under the auspices of Governor JB Pritzker’s office and lets residents know that affordable early childhood education and care is available to Illinois families. Illinois Cares for Kids is a place where parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, and child care providers can access everything related to early childhood in Illinois.

“Affordable child care and early learning opportunities are key to putting children on the path to success,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “We want every family in Illinois to feel empowered to find safe and affordable options for the children in their care, and the ‘I Got Love’ campaign will help give them the resources to do just that.”

I have love was a natural vehicle for conveying the message musically that Illinois is full of people who care. More, Nat King Cole has roots in Illinois, having achieved early fame as a pianist while living at 4023 South Vincennes Avenue in Chicago. The song expresses the core principle of the Illinois Cares for Kids program, while the whimsical and colorful animations bring the message to life in a charming and welcoming video.
