Whisper has been tapped to produce Oleksandr Usyk’s global stream against Anthony Joshua later this month.
The rematch takes place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on August 20, and comes after Usyk won the WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts by beating Joshua on points last year. Whisper will work with international partners such as Sky Sports Box Office in the UK on the production.
The Whisper production team will include Whisper sports manager Pete Thomas, who has worked on world title fights with Joe Calzaghe, Amir Khan, Carl Froch and early career Tyson Fury, as well as the World Series of Boxing; executive producer John Curtis, who has worked in boxing for the past 15 years on top pay-per-view events, such as Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, Klitschko vs. Fury and Froch vs. Groves; Bethan Evans, production manager of Whisper; and Sunil Patel and Mark Cole, who serve as executive producers.
The delivery team will include members from the UK, as well as local teams. Additionally, Whisper is working with Chapter 3 Graphics on audiovisual effects and an immersive and entertaining lighting experience.
It comes after Whisper produced a promo for the fight last week.
Patel, who is also CEO of Whisper, said: Patel, CEO of Whisper: “A heavyweight title remains one of the greatest prizes in sport. It’s such a prestigious event and we share Skill Challenge Entertainment’s ambition to make Rage on the Red Sea an unforgettable fight night around the world. We like to deliver huge sporting moments that entertain the world and this is a big moment in boxing. Thanks to John Curtis for all his work in securing this opportunity and to the entire Whisper team for making it possible.
